Opposing Forces a special unit...

A special unit within the US Army (Jmrc) is the Opposing Forces.
This unit is equipped with its own vehicles and therefore has a different type of camouflage compared to the "standard" vehicles.
The unit functions as a practice enemy for the training units in Hohenfels.
In this way, a more realistic image is created. Vehicles used by the Opfor include converted M113 and Hmmwv vehicles.
But also, as can be seen in the photo album, M1075 Pls and M984 fuel trucks. And so on.
In the photo album you will find a number of different vehicles used by this special unit. The soldiers in this unit wear black uniforms and there are even "special forces" soldiers present.
These are of course not real commandos, but they are trained to commit acts of sabotage during exercises, for example. The vehicles such as the Vismod simulate a number of Russian types of vehicles.

The photo on the right shows a Bmp 2. As can be seen, at a greater distance there is some resemblance between the two vehicles.
The Vismod is a converted M113. It is still clearly recognizable by the chassis. The superstructure, however, has been completely changed. The Vismod simulates a Bmp 2 during exercises to give the units the most realistic enemy possible. (Photo left)
